Makes season debut at Double-A Furman (shoulder) has gone 4-for-12 with three walks, two RBI and a run scored in four games for Double-A Richmond since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Impact Furman reached the Double-A level as a member of the Guardians organization last summer before landing on the IL in late June with a shoulder strain and then getting traded to the Giants just under a couple months later. He didn't make his debut with the Giants organization until shortly after the All-Star break this season, when he began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. He eventually shifted his assignment to Single-A San Jose and then High-A Eugene, slashing a collective .363/.496/.648 over 27 games with the three affiliates before finally getting cleared to debut for the Double-A club this past week.

Goes to SF to complete Cobb deal The Giants acquired Furman from the Guardians on Monday to complete the Alex Cobb trade, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Impact Furman, 23, has slashed .294/.391/.438 with seven home runs and 10 stolen bases this season between High-A Lake County and Double-A Akron. The infielder has missed the last two months of action with a right shoulder strain and it's not clear what his current health status is.

Impact Furman, a 22-year-old second baseman/third baseman, began the season with High-A Lake County before being promoted to Akron in June 3. He produced a .125/.300/.200 slash line across 51 plate appearances in 13 games with Akron before landing on the IL.
