José Quintana - Quality start not enoughQuintana (0-3) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings in a 2-0 loss to the Orioles. He struck out six.
ImpactIt was another tough-luck loss for Quintana, who put together his third consecutive quality start. In four starts since making his season debut following rib surgery, the 34-year-old Quintana has shown that he's still an effective pitcher with a 3.42 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. However, as long as the Mets continue to flounder, wins are going to be tough to attain for the 13-year vet.

Félix Bautista - Earns 30th SaveBautista picked up the save in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Mets. He allowed one hit while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
ImpactA lead-off double was the only blemish for Bautista, who is compiling one of the greatest single-season efforts for a reliever of all time. Bautista not only has a 102:21 K:BB but has also struck out more than two times the total number of baserunners he's allowed. He hasn't allowed an earned run over his past 14 outings and his 0.85 ERA is best among all pitchers with at least 30 innings.

Edwin Uceta - Rehabbing at Single-AUceta (knee) shifted his rehab assignment to Single-A St. Lucie on Sunday and tossed a perfect inning.
ImpactUceta needed just eight pitches to retire the side Sunday in the second appearance of his rehab assignment, which began in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Wednesday. The right-hander has been on the shelf since late April and later underwent surgery in June to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He'll eventually move his rehab to Triple-A Syracuse and will likely make a few appearances with the Mets' top affiliate before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list.

Kyle Bradish - Command issues lead to no decisionBradish did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three hits and five walks over 4.2 scoreless innings against the Mets. He struck out five.
ImpactBradish hit Jeff McNeil to lead off the game and continued to struggle with his command throughout, tossing only 45 of 87 pitches for strikes. He was pulled after he loaded the bases with his fifth walk, one out shy of becoming eligible for the win. This marks the first time in his last 13 starts that Bradish has walked more than two batters in a game. He will look to rebound in his next start, likely set for next weekend in Seattle.

Austin Hays - Managing sorenessHays sat out of the lineup Saturday and Sunday against the Mets due to some soreness, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ImpactHays is a bit banged up after some diving catches in the outfield over the past few days, leading him to be kept out of the starting nine for the last two games versus the Mets. The 28-year-old will now have Monday's team off day to rest up ahead of Tuesday's series opener against Houston.
