Brandon Nimmo - Receives injectionNimmo received a cortisone-type injection in his neck Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.ImpactThe injection was administered in hopes that Nimmo could play as soon as possible, but he's not guaranteed to be ready for Opening Day. Mark Canha and Starling Marte both have experience playing center field, so the Mets should have no issue filling Nimmo's spot if he's forced to miss time. Dominic Smith would likely start in left field if that happens, though that job could also go to J.D. Davis on Opening Day against lefty Patrick Corbin if the Mets are comfortable using Davis in the outfield, something which didn't happen last season.
