ImpactIt was a quiet but effective debut for the right-hander, who was called up to the big club last week. He entered the game with the Dodgers trailing by three runs in the eighth inning and set the side down in order on 11 pitches (nine strikes). Davis to force in a run, and he had another run charged to his ledger after departing. He has had a frustrating season to date, posting a 9.35 ERA and 1.90 WHIP across 17.1 innings with Atlanta and Los Angeles.

ImpactAfter battling elbow soreness in spring training, Vizcaino was cleared to rejoin the Syracuse bullpen early in the 2021 season, but he made just five appearances before being shut down in late May with an unspecified injury. After an absence of nearly three months, the 30-year-old returned to action Sunday in dominant fashion. Since he doesn't possess a spot on the 40-man roster, Vizcaino will likely need to string together several quality performances before the Mets consider promoting him from Triple-A.

José Martínez - Rehab moves to SyracuseMartinez (knee) went 1-for-7 with a solo home run and a walk across two rehab games at Triple-A Syracuse over the weekend.
ImpactWorking his way back from the surgery he required in March to address a meniscus injury in his left knee, Martinez kicked off his minor-league rehab assignment at Low-A St. Lucie on Aug. 8 before getting moved up to High-A Brooklyn on Aug. 15, and then Syracuse for this past weekend. Martinez played seven innings in right field Saturday and the full game at the position Sunday, so he would seemingly have a realistic chance at returning from the 60-day injured list later this week. The righty-hitting Martinez could make sense as a short-side platoon mate for either of the Mets' lefty-hitting regulars in the corner outfield, Dominic Smith and Michael Conforto.
