Raking this springBerti has gone 10-for-24 (.417) in Grapefruit League play with two doubles, a triple, a 9:8 BB:K and four stolen bases in five attempts.
ImpactJazz Chisholm emerged as the winner of the battle for the Marlins' starting second-base job, but Berti will provide a veteran presence off the bench behind the younger infielder. The 31-year-old could see fairly regular action as he spots in all around the diamond, and with 27 steals in 116 big-league games during his career, Berti offers stolen-base potential later in fantasy drafts after the elite speedsters are off the board.

Wrapping up big springAguilar has gone 14-for-40 (.350) in Grapefruit League play with two doubles, two home runs and a stellar 6:1 BB:K.
ImpactThe veteran first baseman has been absolutely locked in this spring, and while Garrett Cooper (.425/.452/.700) has also been raking, Aguilar remains set to begin the season as the Marlins' first baseman, with Cooper coming off the bench to play the outfield corners as well as 1B. The duo will cut into each other's playing time without a DH available in the National League, but Aguilar should still deliver useful fantasy numbers in deeper mixed and NL-only formats.

Appears to have won jobDetwiler is expected to begin the season in the Marlins' bullpen, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.
ImpactThe veteran southpaw has had a shaky spring, posting a 6.75 ERA and 5:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings, but the Marlins are giving more weight to his solid 3.20 ERA and 1.22 WHIP from 2020 when he was used exclusively in relief. Detwiler's career track record is spotty at best, and he will likely be limited to low-leverage situations.

Appears headed for bullpen roleBleier appears to have won a spot on the Marlins' Opening Day roster, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.
ImpactThe 33-year-old has fairly consistently out-produced his FIP over his big-league career, posting ERAs lower than 2.20 in four of the last five seasons, and Bleier's main competition for high-leverage work against left-handed batters will come from erratic veteran Ross Detwiler. Bleier's lack of strikeouts limits his fantasy upside, but he could prove to be a semi-useful source of holds in 2021.

Won't break camp in big leaguesSanchez will be optioned to the Marlins' alternate training site to open the season, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactSanchez has plenty of potential, as he's been one of the game's top pitching prospects for several years and looked good in his seven-start debut last season, cruising to a 3.46 ERA. He also has a history of injury troubles, averaging just 12.8 starts per year over the last five seasons. The Marlins are prioritizing his long-term health and have been bringing him along very slowly this spring despite the fact that he's not currently dealing with any injuries. He should certainly be able to help fantasy teams when available, but the fact that he's being optioned right away is indicative of just how careful the team will be with him this season. Early off days mean the Marlins won't need a fifth starter until April 14, which could be the date Sanchez returns to the big leagues.

Set for middle reliefCimber is expected to fill a middle relief role for the Marlins this season, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.
ImpactThe right-hander has looked good this spring, putting together a 1.13 ERA and 9:2 K:BB over eight innings. Cimber may not see much high-leverage work but he did record 19 holds for Cleveland in 2019, and his sidearm delivery and ability to induce groundballs could make him manager Don Mattingly's top choice when the Marlins need a double play in the late innings.

Ticketed for setup roleFloro is expected to be the Marlins' primary seventh-inning pitcher to begin the season, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.
ImpactManager Don Mattingly prefers set roles for his high-leverage crew, and Floro will apparently be the bridge to Yimi Garcia and Anthony Bass in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively. Floro got a late start to his spring but has posted a 3:1 K:BB in 3.2 Grapefruit League innings, and his 2.59 ERA and 1.11 WHIP for the Dodgers in 2020 suggest he can be effective, if not exactly dominant, for Miami.
