Tomás Nido - Nearing rehab assignmentNido (thumb) could begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Syracuse this weekend, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
ImpactNido has been on the injured list since Aug. 31, so he's only expected to require a few rehab appearances before he's cleared to be activated. The team hasn't indicated what day the catcher will report to the minor-league club, but he'll be in the mix to rejoin the Mets sometime next week.
