Trevor May - Earns second holdMay pitched a perfect eighth inning while striking out two to secure a hold in Thursday's win over the Cardinals.
ImpactMay has been stellar so far this season, as he owns a 1.59 ERA in 11.1 innings and the only earned runs against him came in his first appearance. Edwin Diaz has been inconsistent and banged up at times, which could lead to May receiving some save opportunities in the future. The 31-year-old has certainly been the most consistent pitcher in the Mets' bullpen in 2021.

Edwin Díaz - Notches fourth saveDiaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing two hits to earn the save in the win over the Cardinals on Thursday.
ImpactDiaz pitched for the first time Thursday since exiting Sunday's game with back tightness. He allowed the tying run to come up to the plate before retiring the final two batters. It was a nice bounceback performance after surrendering three earned runs in his last outing. The 27-year-old is a perfect 4-for-4 in save chances and has allowed earned runs in only two of his 12 appearances.

John Gant - Struggles with command in lossGant (2-3) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and six walks while striking out five across 4.1 innings, taking the loss to the Mets on Thursday.
ImpactGant was lucky he got out of his start with just one earned run. Justin Williams made an outstanding catch to strand the bases loaded in the third inning and the first inning was the only frame that Gant didn't allow a runner to get into scoring position. Both runs scored on him were via a walk. The 28-year-old has a 2.15 ERA despite a 1.70 WHIP and 24 walks in 29.1 innings.

Taijuan Walker - Stellar in win ThursdayWalker (2-1) allowed one run (zero earned) on one hit while striking out eight across seven innings to earn the win over the Cardinals on Thursday.
ImpactWalker was near perfect Thursday, allowing just one single to Nolan Arenado in the second inning who eventually scored on a sacrifice fly. Walker retired the last 18 batters he faced. His eight strikeouts matched his season high and it was the first start that he didn't issue a walk. The 28-year old lowered his ERA to 2.38 and WHIP to 1.03 through six appearances. He's done a great job preventing the long ball, allowing just one home run in 34 innings.
