Derek Dietrich - Back with YankeesDietrich agreed to a minor-league contract with the Yankees earlier this month, Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America reports.

ImpactThe Yankees have yet to officially announce Dietrich's signing or assign him to an affiliate, but he'll presumably be ticketed for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre once he finishes a ramp-up program at extended spring training in Tampa. The 32-year-old second baseman previously spent time in the Yankees organization last spring, but he didn't see any action at the big-league level before he was granted his release last March. He later caught on with the Nationals but was unable to earn a promotion to the big club before being cut loose in September.

DJ LeMahieu - Continues hot stretch at plateLeMahieu went 2-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's loss to Baltimore.

ImpactThe Yankees managed only three hits in the contest, and LeMahieu was responsible for half of them. The base knocks extended the veteran infielder's modest hitting streak to five games, during which he is batting .444 (8-for-18) with a pair of doubles. LeMahieu has no homers and only one RBI over that stretch, but his hot streak is a positive sign after he started the campaign going 1-for-10 over his first four contests.

Despite John Means (elbow) hitting the IL, there's been no serious talk of promoting Rodriguez quite yet, but it looks like just a matter of time.
