Frankie Montas - Tosses seven scoreless framesMontas (10-9) earned the win Saturday against the Yankees after tossing seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk while fanning six.
ImpactMontas secured his 10th win of the season in style, hurling seven scoreless frames against one of the best offenses in the American League -- and one of the hottest teams in all of baseball. While he's been inconsistent at times and went through a rough patch in June, where he posted a 5.28 ERA across five starts, he has turned things around of late and he's now given up one or fewer runs in three of his last four appearances, including tossing two straight scoreless outings. He has also fanned at least six in each of his last nine starts.

Sergio Romo - Clinches save despite homerRomo earned the save Saturday against the Yankees despite allowing two runs and two hits across one inning with no walks or strikeouts.
ImpactRomo needed just 16 pitches to close things out in the ninth, but he was far from effective and gave up a two-run shot to Aaron Judge that made it a one-run game with two outs to go. Fortunately for Oakland, Romo retired Giancarlo Stanton and Joey Gallo to clinch his first save of the campaign. The two runs allowed on Judge's blast were the first ones he allowed since August 13, and he has given up just three runs across 11.2 innings (11 appearances) this month.

Nestor Cortes Jr. - Can't escape sixth inningCortes (2-2) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Athletics after allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while fanning four across 5.1 innings.
ImpactCortes was coming off two straight quality starts but was unable to extend the streak here, as the Athletics chased him out of the game with two outs left in the sixth after a single from Mark Canha. The left-hander has struggled to pitch deep into games, but he has been doing a good job so far and has given up three or fewer runs in six of his last seven appearances.

Aaron Judge - Blasts ninth-inning homerJudge went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's loss to the Athletics.
ImpactJudge was just one triple away from hitting the cycle and provided all the offense the Yankees were able to muster against the A's pitching staff with a two-run blast off Sergio Romo in the top of the ninth. However, his 29th long ball of the campaign wasn't enough to spark a comeback or force extra innings. The towering slugger has posted five straight multi-hit performances and has homered in back-to-back games as well. He's hitting an impressive .346 with eight homers and 24 RBI this month.
