ImpactDavis passed through waivers unclaimed after being DFA'd by the Yankees on Sunday. Assuming he clears waivers again, he will enter free agency and attempt to latch on with another team. The 31-year-old has slashed .218/.293/.338 through 157 plate appearances this season, but he went just 2-for-19 (.105) with one RBI and nine strikeouts over seven games during his time in New York.

Cristopher Sánchez - Drops third straightSanchez (7-7) took the loss against the Yankees Wednesday, allowing six runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

ImpactSanchez didn't pitch as poorly as his final line would indicate Wednesday -- the majority of the damage against him came on DJ LeMahieu's grand slam in the second inning. The left-hander would then keep the Yankees off the board for three straight innings -- however, Sanchez allowed a pair of two-out singles in the sixth before he was replaced by Jose Ruiz, who would allow both inherited runners to score. It's the third straight loss for Sanchez, who's struggled to a 6.59 ERA in his last five outings. His ERA is up to 3.36 on the season with a 1.28 WHIP and 98:31 K:BB across 21 starts (120.2 innings). Sanchez will look to get back on track his next time out -- he's currently in line for a tough road matchup with the Dodgers early next week.

Clay Holmes - Rebounds for 22nd saveHolmes earned the save in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Phillies, working around one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

ImpactProtecting a one-run lead, it looked like Holmes could be in trouble again after Kyle Schwarber led off the ninth with a single. However, he would get Austin Hays to fly out before coaxing a game-ending, double-play ball off the bat of Bryce Harper. The 31-year-old Homes had blown three straight save opportunities prior to Wednesday, including a 26-pitch appearance Tuesday. Despite his recent inconsistency, Holmes still sports a solid 2.82 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 45:12 K:BB across 44.2 innings this season while converting 22 of 30 save chances.
