Andrew Heaney - Acquired by YankeesHeaney was sent from the Angels to the Yankees in exchange for Janson Junk and Elvis Peguero on Friday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
ImpactHeaney owns a 5.27 ERA in 18 starts this season, though that hides a much more impressive set of peripherals. His 28.2 percent strikeout rate and 7.7 percent walk rate are both strong numbers and should in theory be enough to offset a low 33.5 percent groundball rate going forward, as his 4.05 FIP and 3.81 xFIP suggest. Being a flyball pitcher could cause problems for the lefty in Yankee Stadium, however.

ImpactThe Yankees trailed by 14 runs when Holmes came into the contest in the eighth inning, so he wasn't exactly pitching under pressure. Still, it was a positive New York debut for the right-hander, who was acquired from the Pirates on Monday. Holmes figures to see mostly low-leverage work for the Yankees given his 4.81 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 5.2 BB/9 on the season.

Albert Abreu - Overwhelmed in Tampa BayAbreu allowed six runs on four hits and two walks without recording an out against Tampa Bay on Thursday.
ImpactThe right-hander came into the contest with a 1.88 ERA across 14.1 innings and left with his ERA having ballooned to 5.65. Abreu tossed only 18 of 33 pitches for strikes and was pounded when he did throw the ball into the zone, as three of Tampa Bay's four hits against him left the park. It was the first time this season that Abreu has allowed more than one run in an appearance.
