Isiah Kiner-Falefa - Late scratch from lineup MondayKiner-Falefa was scratched from the lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Astros due to a left knee injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
ImpactKiner-Falefa played the full nine innings in Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Yankees and wasn't known to be dealing with any sort of injury leading up to Monday's 3:07 p.m. ET opening pitch, so he may have hurt his knee at some point during pregame warmups. The Blue Jays will likely shed more light on Kiner-Falefa's situation later Monday. Kevin Kiermaier was a late addition to the Toronto lineup as a replacement for Kiner-Falefa, who saw his 13-game hit streak come to an end with an 0-for-4 showing Sunday.

Yimi García - Throws off moundGarcia (elbow) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ImpactThe reliever will throw another bullpen session Wednesday before the next steps in his rehab program are determined. Garcia has missed just two weeks with a nerve issue in his right elbow, so it's possible he'll skip a rehab assignment and return from the 15-day injured list whenever the Blue Jays feel that he's ready. With Jordan Romano (elbow) out indefinitely, Garcia should be back in the mix for saves once he returns, perhaps even as the club's top option. Chad Green has been serving as Toronto's closer since Garcia landed on the IL but hasn't received any save chances during that stretch.

JT Brubaker - Rehab moved to Double-ABrubaker (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred from the Florida Complex League to Double-A Somerset on Sunday. He pitched three shutout innings for Somerset, allowing one hi...
ImpactThis was Brubaker's third outing of his rehab assignment -- he previously pitched one game for Single-A Tampa and one game for the FCL Yankees. The right-hander looked good Sunday, throwing 30 of 47 pitches for strikes and yielding just one hit (a double). Brubaker appears to be building up his workload to take on a starting role, and he'll likely need a few more rehab outings before he's ready to be activated off the injured list. Once that happens, he may be optioned to Triple-A if there isn't a spot open in the big club's rotation.
