Elects free agency Ramirez cleared waivers and elected free agency Tuesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Impact The 31-year-old was designated for assignment over the weekend and will hit free agency rather than report to the minors. Ramirez made two appearances for the Angels, allowing two earned runs on five hits with one walk and zero strikeouts over 3.1 innings.
