Impact The rookie is maintaining an everyday role now that he's healthy, but Wilson has gone just 4-for-25 since returning from his IL stint due to a hamstring injury back on Aug. 27. However, given his elite body of work as a hitter in the minors -- Wilson posted averages of between .318 and .571 at each stop during his meteoric year-plus rise through the organization -- it figures to be just a matter of time before he starts showing signs of figuring out big-league arms as he continues to see them during the stretch run.

Tyler Soderstrom - Homers in first rehab game Soderstrom (wrist) took three plate appearances as the designated hitter in Triple-A Las Vegas' win over Round Rock on Thursday, hitting a two-run home run.
Impact Soderstrom was making his rehab assignment debut and slugged the round tripper in his final plate appearance of the game in the sixth inning. It was the rookie's first taste of game action since July 9, and he therefore figures to get in several more games, including some on defense, with the Aviators before activation begins to be considered.

Impact Rooker took Bryan Woo deep in the fifth inning and then Andres Munoz in the ninth but still couldn't lead his team to a win. Rooker also extended his hitting streak to a career-best nine games in the process. The 29-year-old now has 35 home runs this season, surpassing Jose Ramirez for fifth most in the American League. Rooker is seeking to become the first Oakland hitter since 2021 to finish a season top five in the American League homer race.

Impact Estes coughed up a pair of homers to Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez, making it the fifth time this season he's allowed multiple long balls in a start. Ester has now given up at least one home run in seven straight starts, but he has pitched well over that span. Thursday's start ended an impressive run of nine straight outings in which he didn't allow more than three runs. The 22-year-old has a 4.46 ERA through 111 innings in his rookie campaign.

JP Sears - Allows five runs in loss Sears (11-10) took the loss against the Mariners on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk over five innings while striking out five.
Impact Sears went 1-2-3 through the first inning before hitting Randy Arozarena with a pitch to open the second. The lefty would eventually go on to surrender two runs in the frame following a double from Mitch Garver, and was tagged for another three runs in the fourth after allowing four-consecutive hits with two outs. Despite his struggles, Sears was still able to get through six innings for the seventh time in his last eight starts, though he's now given up five earned runs in two of his last three outings. Sears also carries a strong 30:8 K:BB since the start of August and will look to get back in the winning column when the A's travel to Houston to take on the Astros next week.

CJ Alexander - Claimed by Oakland The Athletics claimed Alexander off waivers Wednesday and assigned him to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Impact The 28-year-old was reported to have been released by the Royals on Tuesday after being designated for assignment, but the Athletics apparently put in a waiver claim instead. Alexander saw his first big-league action this season with eight games for Kansas City, but he's spent most of the campaign at the Triple-A level, where he has a .306/.354/.566 slash line with 17 homers in 83 contests.
