Jared Dickey - Shipped to Oakland The Royals traded Dickey, Mason Barnett and Will Klein to the Athletics in exchange for Lucas Erceg, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact Dickey has been excellent for the Royals' High-A affiliate this season, slashing .269/.360/.424 with nine homers, 40 RBI and 39 runs scored in 290 plate appearances. The 22-year-old won't figure into the Athletics' immediate plans.

Will Klein - Acquired by Oakland The Athletics acquired Klein from the Royals on Tuesday in the Lucas Erceg trade, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact Klein has allowed four runs in 5.2 frames during his brief time in the majors this season. He's put up a 30.7 percent strikeout rate but also a 16.1 percent walk rate in the minors. Klein had been on the Royals' major-league roster but it's not clear whether he'll report to Oakland or Triple-A Las Vegas.

Impact Nevin recorded a second consecutive start for the first time since June 25-26 and was in the opening lineup for the third game in the last four overall. The utility player laced his second double in that span and subsequently scored the first run of the day for the Athletics on Miguel Andujar's fielder's choice groundout in the third inning. Nevin has seen action at five different positions including designated hitter, and while he's offered some decent pop by belting 13 of his 35 hits for extra bases, he carries a lackluster .205/.299/.351 slash line across 197 plate appearances overall.

Max Schuemann - Another stolen base Sunday Schuemann went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Angels.
Impact Schuemann went hitless for a second straight day but was able to swipe base No. 11 when he reached with a walk in the fourth. If he had enough plate appearances to qualify, Schuemann would lead the A's in walk rate at 11.7 percent, as he's shown an exceptionally patient eye at the plate as a rookie. The 27-year-old is slashing .256/.346/.364 with six homers, 26 RBI, 45 runs and a 33:76 BB:K in 292 plate appearances.

Brent Rooker - Drives in three Sunday Rooker went 2-for-4 with a three-run double and a run in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.
Impact Rooker cleared the bases in the third with his two-bagger, plating JJ Bleday, Lawrence Butler and Miguel Andujar to give Oakland a 4-0 lead at the time. Rooker's body of work in July -- perhaps partly fueled by a well-publicized All-Star snub -- has featured one of the best stretches of hitting in the majors this season, as he heads into the final two games of the month having generated a .412 average, 1.329 OPS, 10 home runs and 28 RBI across 22 games. Rooker's .385 average with runners in scoring position during that span has helped push him to a career-high 75 RBI on the season, while his power surge puts him just five homers shy of the career-best 30 he slugged in 2023 over 44 additional games.

Osvaldo Bido - Hit hard in Sunday's start Bido (2-2) took the loss against the Angels on Sunday, allowing seven earned runs on six hits, four walks and a hit batsman over 3.2 innings. He struck out six.
Impact Bido's swing-and-miss numbers weren't bad, but he otherwise had a rough go of it against what had been a light-hitting Angels squad. He actually cruised through his first two frames, but his unraveling began in a third inning during which the Angels sliced a 6-0 deficit in half via a Luis Rengifo RBI groundout and Willie Calhoun two-run single. Bido then issued three walks and a go-ahead grand slam to Taylor Ward in the fourth, putting the right-hander on the hook for the eventual loss. The 28-year-old saw his ERA shoot up from 3.09 to 5.00 with the rocky outing, but Bido is likely to remain in the rotation for the time being and projects to draw an unenviable matchup in the Dodgers for his next start this coming weekend.

Impact Bido appeared to be in line for just a spot start when he was called upon Tuesday to take the hill against the Astros. However, after striking out six while allowing just one run over five innings en route to picking up a win, Bido will get at least one more opportunity to stake a claim to a more permanent spot in the Oakland rotation.
