Andrés Giménez - Records stealGimenez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Athletics.
ImpactThis was Gimenez's first successful steal since May 17 -- he was caught stealing twice over his last 30 games. The second baseman has steadied himself, going 7-for-27 (.259) over his last seven contests. He's had trouble with consistency this year, and he's now at a .241/.305/.369 slash line with five home runs, 26 RBI, 31 runs scored and eight thefts over 71 games. Despite the uninspiring batting numbers, he's maintained a near-everyday role.

Nick Sandlin - Nabs third winSandlin (3-3) allowed a run on one walk and struck out one over two innings without giving up a hit. He earned the win Thursday over the Athletics.
ImpactOakland was able to open the scoring against Sandlin in the fifth inning after an inefficient four frames from starter Logan Allen. The Guardians quickly replied in their half of the frame to gain the lead, and they didn't look back. Sandlin has allowed three runs, eight hits and four walks while striking out seven over eight innings through eight appearances in June. He's at a solid 3.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB over 27.1 innings overall in a primarily low-leverage role.

Josh Bell - Hits 430-foot bomb in winBell went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's 6-1 victory over the Athletics.
ImpactBell jumped on the first pitch he saw in his second at-bat and absolutely destroyed the ball, sending it well beyond the stands in left field for his seventh home run of the season. The solo shot put the Guardians on the board and tied the game at 1-1 before the team went on to complete its three-game sweep of the A's. The designated hitter was on a 3-for-20 skid coming in (spanning six games), with no RBI or runs scored but now has three homers in his last nine games.

Logan Allen - Hurls four scoreless inningsAllen did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing two hits and three walks over four scoreless innings against the Athletics. He struck out five.
ImpactAllen was able to keep the Athletics off the scoreboard over four innings, but he needed 89 pitches to do it before being relieved by Nick Sandlin to open the fifth. This comes after the lefty lasted just three innings in his previous start and he's now walked seven batters over his last seven innings of work. On a positive note, Allen was able to lower his ERA back down to 3.68 on the season with the scoreless outing and he'll look to bounce back at home next week when the Guardians take on the Royals.

JP Sears - Handed tough lossSears (1-5) took the loss Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over seven innings against the Guardians. He struck out eight.
ImpactSears retired the first 11 batters he faced before giving up a single to Jose Ramirez with two outs in the fourth inning. He would get out of the inning unscathed but wasn't so lucky in the fifth, leaving a sweeper up in the zone on his first pitch to Josh Bell, who then launched it 430 feet into the left field stands. Both of the runs against the lefty came in the fifth inning and he actually did a great job of mixing up his pitches over his seven frames before being dealt the tough loss. Sears' eight strikeouts on the afternoon were the second most he's recorded in a start this season and he's now gone seven innings in two straight, posting a 15:1 K:BB ratio over that span.
