Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Scottsdale, AZ
Brenton Doyle - Optioned to Triple-A levelDoyle was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque by the Rockies on Tuesday.
ImpactRockies general manager Bill Schmidt suggested last month that Doyle could be a candidate for the Opening Day roster, but the 24-year-old outfielder had failed to show much power in the Cactus League while also tallying 12 strikeouts across his 28 at-bats. He posted 26 homers and 23 stolen bases in 132 games last season between Double-A and Triple-A.

Sean Bouchard - Undergoes biceps surgeryBouchard underwent surgery Tuesday to repair his ruptured left biceps muscle, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports.
ImpactBouchard suffered the biceps rupture in a Cactus League game last week. There is no estimated timetable yet for his recovery, but early chatter had it as a possible season-ending injury. The 26-year-old was trending toward a sizable role for Colorado in 2023.

Kris Bryant - Expected to return WednesdayBryant (back) is expected to return to Cactus League action Wednesday, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports.
ImpactBryant sat out both Monday and Tuesday due to a stiff back, and even minor issues are going to send up red flags after he was limited to 42 games with the Rockies in 2022. It was plantar fasciitis that ultimately ended his season, though he did also miss time in the first half because of a back strain. His status for Wednesday is certainly worth monitoring.

Lucas Gilbreath - Undergoes Tommy John surgeryGilbreath (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery as scheduled Tuesday, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports.
ImpactGilbreath will miss the entire 2023 season, and his rehab is likely to extend into the early part of the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old left-hander registered a 4.19 ERA and 49:26 K:BB over 43 innings of relief for the Rockies in 2022.

Freddy Tarnok - Dealing with arm issueTarnok hasn't pitched in a Cactus League game since March 8 due to right arm discomfort, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactInitial reports suggested it was a thumb issue Tarnok was dealing with, but apparently it's his pitching arm. He's undergoing tests and the Athletics should have a clearer idea of what's going on with the right-hander soon. Tarnok came over to the Athletics from Atlanta in the Sean Murphy trade. If healthy, he's likely to start 2023 at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Manny Piña - Injures wrist in minors gamePina's status for Opening Day is in doubt after he injured his left wrist on a swing in a minor-league game, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactPina had been set to return from his calf injury this week, but now he has a new issue to deal with. He'll be evaluated before more is known about his status, but given that he's been out virtually all spring, his readiness for Opening Day seems unlikely. Shea Langeliers is the only other catcher on Oakland's 40-man roster, so the team would have to make a move to replace Pina. Tyler Soderstrom seems unlikely, but the A's do have Yohel Pozo in camp.
