Jack O'Loughlin - Receives outright assignmentThe Athletics outrighted O'Loughlin to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.
ImpactOakland dropped O'Loughlin from the 40-man roster Wednesday, and after clearing waivers, the left-hander will head to Las Vegas. The 24-year-old has a 4.66 ERA and a 6:5 K:BB across 9.2 innings spanning four games with the A's.
SEPTEMBER 13ROTOWIRE
T.J. McFarland - Hit with third loss ThursdayMcFarland (2-3) took the loss against the Astros on Thursday, allowing two earned runs on two hits over one-third of an inning. He did not walk or strike out a batter.
ImpactMcFarland was the next man in following Mitch Spence's seven-inning quality start, but the veteran southpaw allowed back-to-back singles after retiring Yordan Alvarez to open the frame. McFarland would get the hook at that point and see the two runners eventually cross the plate and snap a 2-2 tie, saddling him with the loss. The 35-year-old had last allowed an earned run Aug. 28 prior to Thursday, and despite the stumble, he still carries a 3.78 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across a career-high 72 appearances (52.1 innings).
SEPTEMBER 13ROTOWIRE
Jacob Wilson - Multi-hit effort in lossWilson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Astros on Thursday.
ImpactThe rookie contributed only his second multi-hit effort since returning from the injured list Aug. 27 and extended his hitting streak to six games in the process. Wilson has been making constant contact during that stretch, mustering a .333 average with a tiny 7.7 percent strikeout rate across 26 plate appearances.
SEPTEMBER 13ROTOWIRE
Tyler Nevin - Smacks seventh homerNevin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.
ImpactNevin gave the A's some life in the ninth inning with an opposite-field blast off Josh Hader, cutting Houston's lead to 6-3. It's Nevin's first home run since July 6 -- he'd gone just 9-for-62 (.145) with a .419 OPS in 26 games coming into Thursday. The 27-year-old Nevin is slashing .196/.287/.329 through 251 plate appearances this season with seven homers, 18 RBI and 20 runs scored while being limited to the occasional start against left-handed pitching.

MLB's best 1-2 pitching punch? Most vulnerable contender? AL ROY? 5 burning questions
Ryan Pressly - Picks up winPressly (2-3) allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out two to earn the win Thursday against the A's.
ImpactPressly gave up the game-tying home run in the eighth inning and has now allowed an earned run in five of his last 10 appearances. He was bailed out by an Astros rally in the eighth inning and picked up his second win of the season -- both of which have come in his last five outings -- as a result.
SEPTEMBER 13ROTOWIRE
Jon Singleton - Three hits, two doubles in winSingelton went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Thursday's 6-3 win over Oakland.
ImpactIt's the first multi-hit game in over a month for Singleton -- he'd gone just 10-for-46 (.217) in his previous 20 contests, though he posted a solid .858 OPS with four home runs in that span. Overall, Singleton's slashing .239/.322/.393 with 13 homers, 38 RBI and 45 runs scored while serving as Houston's primary first baseman this season.
