Mark Canha - Returns to lineupCanha (elbow) will lead off and play left field Monday against the Mariners.
ImpactCanha missed Sunday's game against the Angels with a sore elbow, but the injury evidently wasn't a serious one. He certainly hasn't looked like he's playing through pain lately, as he's gone hitless just once in his last 11 games, posting a 1.139 OPS over that stretch.

A.J. Puk - Tuesday rehab appearance plannedPuk (biceps) is scheduled to make another rehab appearance for Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Athletics manager Bob Melvin confirmed to Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio on SiriusX...
ImpactThere was a possibility the Athletics had seen enough from Puk over four appearances with the Aviators to deem him ready for activation, but after the left-hander gave up some hard contact in a rough outing Saturday versus Salt Lake, it appears the team wants to see if he can bounce back. Puk hasn't worked more than a single frame in any of his outings with Las Vegas, although he did throw 20 pitches in just two-thirds of an inning Saturday due to his struggles.

Luis Barrera - Gets first big-league knockBarrera, just recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, went 1-for-3 in his first major-league start Sunday against the Angels.
ImpactThe promising prospect's blistering hot start with the Aviators (.349/.429/.558) helped spur the promotion, but Barrera's only three appearances prior to Sunday had come as a pinch hitter or in-game defensive replacement. Barrera was in the starting lineup Sunday as a result of Mark Canha's elbow soreness affording the veteran a day off, so it remains to be seen how many starting opportunities the rookie will see during his first big-league stint.

Tony Kemp - Stays hot in leadoff debutKemp went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run in a loss to the Angels on Sunday. He was also caught stealing on his only attempt.
ImpactKemp operated out of the top of the order for the first time this season and generated his second multi-hit effort in the last three contests. The veteran has shown a propensity for hard contact during that small sample, recording a double, Sunday's triple and a solo home run, with the latter two qualifying as his first of the year in those respective categories. While he doesn't possess a true everyday role at present, Kemp's .392 on-base percentage and three steals in four attempts are a big part of what affords him some fantasy value in AL-only formats and deep mixed leagues, and his recent modest flurry of extra-base hits would certainly boost it even further if it persisted over a longer sample.

Daulton Jefferies - Starting for Triple-A Las VegasJefferies (biceps) is starting Monday's game for Triple-A Las Vegas, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
ImpactJefferies was placed on the minor-league injured list with right biceps tendinitis at the end of April, but he'll make his 2021 debut Monday. The right-hander made his major-league debut last year, but Monday's start will be his first at the Triple-A level. Now that he's healthy, Jefferies could return to the majors at some point this year if he pitches effectively with Triple-A Las Vegas.
