Nabs win despite no punchouts Bido (2-1) earned the win over the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over 5.2 innings. He did not strike out any batters.
Impact Bido didn't miss many bats with a modest seven whiffs and zero strikeouts, but he nonetheless pitched effectively. The right-hander gave up just one run (on a Brooks Baldwin solo homer) and threw an efficient 55 of 83 pitches for strikes. Bido is far from the flashiest pitcher in the league, but he's gotten the job done for the Athletics so far this season, going at least five innings in all four of his starts to date and giving up no more than two runs in any outing. He has a 2.61 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 20.2 innings on the season, and despite Wednesday's lack of punchouts, he's usually good for a handful of Ks -- in his first three starts, he tallied 14 strikeouts across 15 frames.

Five strikeouts in no-decision Bido didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rockies, allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five batters in five innings.
Impact Unfortunately for Bido, the Athletics' offense woke up too late for the 29-year-old to collect his second win in as many starts. However, he did a nice job to make sure only a couple of runners came around to score despite allowing quite a bit of traffic on the basepaths. He'll carry a 2.70 ERA and 1.50 WHIP into his next start, which is lined up to come at home against the Padres.

Impact Bido wasn't particularly sharp in the outing, as he issued four free passes, hit two batters and threw just 45 of 81 pitches for strikes. However, he limited the Mariners to just one earned run (due in part to inducing two double plays) and emerged with the win. Bido posted a 3.7 BB/9 in each of his first two big-league seasons, so control hasn't been his strong point. However, he's locked into a spot in Oakland's rotation and has some fantasy upside after posting a 3.41 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 in his first season with the Athletics last year.

Impact Bido had been dealing with the wrist issue for several starts before finally getting to the point where he was having difficulty gripping the ball, so his recovery could potentially carry through the end of the regular season.
