Earns win over White Sox Maton (1-0) got the win in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the White Sox after allowing a hit and punching out two in a scoreless sixth.

Impact Maton allowed a leadoff double to Yoan Moncada but was able to take care of the next three hitters to get out of the inning with no harm done. The 28-year-old earned both his first win and hold of the year while lowering his ERA to 6.75 to go along with a 26:9 K:BB over 17.1 innings.

Impact The 28-year-old relieved Triston McKenzie in the fourth inning, but the reliever wasn't able to stop the bleeding. Maton now has a 7.62 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB across 13 innings this year. He's given up nine runs in his last six outings, so the right-hander is unlikely to see high-leverage situations any time soon.

Overall, the 28-year-old has a 4.97 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB across 12.2 innings this season. He's seen very little high-leverage work without a save or hold to his name.

Impact Maton worked as an opener Tuesday, and the only run he allowed came on a Michael Taylor single in the second inning. Through 10 innings this season, Maton owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB. He'll likely return to a low-leverage role in the bullpen.

Closing in on seven figures Maton signed a one-year, $975,000 contract with Cleveland on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Impact Maton doesn't have the requisite saves to get a big payday in arbitration -- his lone career save came in 2017 with San Diego. It seems like he was pretty unlucky last year, as he had a sparkling 27.1 K-BB% and 2.22 FIP, but his 60.1 percent strand rate and .415 BABIP led to a 4.57 ERA. He should work in mid-leverage spots this season.
