Michael Soroka - Starting Monday vs. OaklandSoroka will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett by Atlanta on Monday for a start against the Athletics, Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports.
ImpactIt will be the first MLB start for Soroka since 2020, as the right-hander missed the last two seasons while recovering from multiple Achilles injuries. In his eight starts with Triple-A Gwinnett, Soroka has posted mediocre numbers with a 4.33 ERA with a 35:11 K:BB and 1.33 WHIP, but he's allowed just one run in his last two starts, and he fired six innings against Triple-A Durham on Tuesday while striking out eight. Soroka was once among the top young hurlers in baseball, and the 25-year-old will get a soft landing with a start against the woeful Athletics on Monday.
