Optioned to minorsSuarez (quadriceps) was optioned to minor-league camp Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
ImpactSuarez hasn't thrown a pitch in Grapefruit League action this spring, as he was delayed first by visa issues and then by a quadriceps injury. He could return to the active roster at some point this season, though his career 4.66 ERA in 67.2 innings at the highest level suggests he's best suited for a lower-leverage role.

Sent to minor-league campMoniak was optioned to minor-league camp Tuesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
ImpactMoniak hit the ball well this spring, going 6-for-22 at the plate with five extra-base hits, but it won't be enough to earn him an Opening Day roster spot. Adam Haseley's return from a groin injury pushes Moniak further down the depth chart, though none of the names ahead of him (Haseley, Scott Kingery, Roman Quinn and potentially Odubel Herrera) are anything close to stars, so there's a chance he's back up to claim the job at some point this season.

Spring work to pick upChapman (suspension) is slated to pitch every other day through the end of spring training, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactThe veteran closer tossed a scoreless inning in Monday's Grapefruit League game against Philadelphia, allowing one walk while striking out a pair. He has not allowed a run or a hit while posting a 5:1 K:BB in spring play, though he has hurled only four innings. It appears Chapman will get more work going forward as he prepares for his 12th big-league campaign.

Not standing out in spring actionHerrera has cooled off after a strong start to his Grapefruit League campaign, going 4-for-27 over his last nine games to bring his spring slash line down to .222/.243/.472.
ImpactGiven the fact that Herrera has a domestic violence suspension on his resume and is no longer on the Phillies' 40-man roster, he likely had to blow away the competition if he was to break camp with the team. He looked set to do that as Grapefruit League play began but has since fallen back to earth. The Phillies may not be particularly motivated to clear a 40-man roster spot for him, especially with Adam Haseley returning from a groin injury, Mickey Moniak tearing the cover off the ball (1.112 OPS), and Roman Quinn also looking capable (.780 OPS)
