ImpactThe second baseman came into the game with only one hit on the year in 13 at-bats, but he got his offense rolling while picking up his first steal of the season. Arroyo went 5-for-6 on the basepaths last year and he's never swiped more than seven in a minor-league season, but the 27-year-old might add some extra value in that category in 2023 after MLB's rule changes to boost the running game.

Corey Kluber - Takes tough loss WednesdayKluber (0-2) took the loss Wednesday as the Red Sox were downed 4-1 by the Pirates, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over five innings while striking out two.
ImpactThe veteran right-hander didn't pitch poorly, tossing 44 of 67 pitches for strikes before exiting, but Kluber left the game with Boston down 1-0 and they never found a tying run. While his Cy Young days are behind him, Kluber could still be able to provide the Red Sox with solid outings. He'll take a 6.48 ERA and 6:5 K:BB through 8.1 innings into his next start, and while he potentially lines up for a two-step next week, the return of Garrett Whitlock (hip) could shuffle the team's rotation and provide Kluber with an extra day of rest instead.

ImpactThe veteran outfielder has had a bit of a slow start at the plate to begin his second tour of duty with the Pirates, going 4-for-15 (.267) through six games with his only extra-base hit being a double, but he's drawn seven walks and stole his first base of the year Wednesday. McCutchen hasn't swiped double-digit bags since 2018, but the 36-year-old still boasted a sprint speed in the 90th percentile last year according to Statcast. If he keeps getting on base at a good clip, he could be one of the players who benefits most from MLB's rule changes to boost the running game.

Bryan Reynolds - Productive again WednesdayReynolds went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.
ImpactThe 28-year-old has hit safely in six straight games to begin the season, going 10-for-24 (.417) with two doubles, four homers, six runs and seven RBI, but Wednesday's pilfer was his first of the year. Reynolds went 7-for-10 in that category in 2022, but he's one of the players who could see a significant bump in steals this season thanks to MLB's rule changes to boost the running game.
