Garrett Cooper - Exits with knee issueCooper fouled a pitch off his left knee and was removed from Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

ImpactCooper went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts before being replaced in the field for the bottom of the seventh inning. According to De Nicola, the 31-year-old had X-rays come back negative and was diagnosed with a bruise on the inside of his knee.

Greg Allen - Shifts rehab to Triple-AThe Pirates moved Allen's (hamstring) rehab assignment from Single-A Bradenton to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

ImpactAllen, who has been on the 60-day injured list all season while recovering from strains of both hamstrings, will likely remain with Indianapolis through the All-Star break before the Pirates activate him. Over his three rehab games with Bradenton, Allen went 3-for-9 with a walk and a run.

ImpactThe lefty-hitting Gamel had been in the lineup in each of the Pirates' last three game, including Sunday and Monday when southpaws were on the mound for the opposition. However, with Pittsburgh facing a third straight lefty (Daniel Castano) on Tuesday, manager Derek Shelton may have decided it was an ideal time to give the veteran a day off. Jason Delay - Picks up another start vs. leftyDelay will start at catcher and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

ImpactDelay will be rewarded with his third start in a row behind the plate after he went 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles and a run scored between the previous two contests.
