Michael Conforto - Smacks third homerConforto went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh.
ImpactThe outfielder staked the Mets to a 5-0 lead with his first-inning blast. Conforto's multi-hit effort was his first since June 23, and he's just 7-for-50 (.140) since he returned from a hamstring injury on that day. Overall, the 28-year-old has a poor .202/.345/.301 slash line with three homers, 19 RBI and 16runs scored through 200 plate appearances. He's still seen the bulk of the playing time in right field over Kevin Pillar and Billy McKinney lately.

Sights & sounds of Day 1 at the MLB All-Star Game
Francisco Lindor - Blasts 11th homerLindor went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh.
ImpactThe shortstop opened the scoring with his 11th homer of the year coming in the first inning off Pittsburgh starter Chase De Jong. Lindor has gone yard twice in the last four games. He's struggled a bit in his first half-season as a Met, posting a .227/.326/.377 slash line with 36 RBI, 49 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 361 plate appearances. Sunday was just his fourth three-hit game of the year.

Edwin Díaz - Blows save, takes lossDiaz (3-3) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 1.1 innings, taking a blown save and the loss Sunday versus Pittsburgh.
ImpactThe 27-year-old entered the game with runners on the corners and one out in the eighth inning. He issued a walk to load the bases, but escaped the jam by striking out Michael Perez and Ke'Bryan Hayes. Diaz didn't get so lucky in the ninth inning, as Pittsburgh gained the lead by scoring two runs with two outs on his watch. The right-hander is now 19-for-21 in save chances this year, and he's posted a 3.25 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB across 36 innings.

Jerad Eickhoff - Gives up pair of homersEickhoff allowed two runs on six hits in 2.2 innings versus Pittsburgh on Sunday. He struck out none and did not factor in the decision.
ImpactEickhoff served as the primary pitcher behind opener Aaron Loup in Sunday's contest. There was little trouble for Eickhoff in his first two innings, but Rodolfo Castro and Michael Perez each took him deep for solo home runs in the fifth inning. The 31-year-old right-hander has allowed seven runs in 12.2 innings this season, with two of his three major-league appearances coming as a starter.

Aaron Loup - Two scoreless innings as openerLoup allowed two hits and struck out two in two innings as the opener in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh. He did not factor in the decision.
ImpactThe southpaw did his job as the opener, and he was ultimately one of the more effective of six pitchers the Mets deployed Sunday. Loup has thrived in a versatile role with eight holds, three wins, a 1.61 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across 28 innings in 31 appearances. Sunday was his first major-league start, but he'll likely return to a high-leverage bullpen role after the All-Star break.
