Likely out for season Manager Rocco Baldelli said Friday that Dobnak (finger) will likely miss the remainder of the season, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Impact Dobnak was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, and he was diagnosed with a full tear of the A4 pulley in his right middle finger. The right-hander dealt with a similar injury earlier in the season and is unlikely to return to the mound in 2021. Andrew Albers started in his place Thursday and will likely remain with the major-league club if the team continues to utilize a six-man rotation.

Starting Thursday Dobnak is listed as the Twins' scheduled starter for Thursday's game in Cleveland.
Impact Dobnak returned from the 60-day injured list last week and immediately reclaimed a spot in the Minnesota rotation, after previously swinging between a starting and long-relief role for the big club before being shut down in late June with a right middle finger strain. While he gave the Twins seven innings Sept. 3 against an excellent Rays squad, he was pummeled for five runs and six hits between the second and third innings alone. The strong finish to the start was enough for Dobnak to earn a second turn, and he'll likely have some staying power in the rotation for the rest of the season now that the 61-77 Twins are in full-on evaluation mode with younger pitchers on the roster.

Impact It was a very up-and-down outing for Dobnak who made his first start since June 19 after missing time with a finger injury. The Rays tallied all five runs and six hits during the second and third innings but the 26-year-old righty retired the last 15 batters he faced. He actually lowered his ERA slightly to 7.64 alongside a 27:12 K:BB through 50.2 innings. Dobnak is lined up to take the mound in Cleveland next week.
