Dazzles in final 2021 start Suarez (8-5) shut out the Marlins over seven innings to claim the win Friday in the Phillies' 5-0 triumph. He scattered six hits and a walk and struck out a season-high nine batter... Impact The Phillies fell short in their bid to leapfrog Atlanta in the National League East standings in the final week of the season, but Suarez proved to be a revelation for the club upon converting from the bullpen to the rotation in early August. Over 12 starts, he submitted a 1.51, 1.08 WHIP and 65:19 K:BB in 65.2 innings. Though the Phillies deliberately limited his pitch counts in some of those early starts while he was building up his workload, Suarez was a workhorse down the stretch, covering at least six frames in each of his final five starts. He's not only secured a rotation spot for the Phillies heading into 2022, but he may even be a viable SP3 option in fantasy drafts.
