Impresses manager Wednesday Garcia pitched well in an intrasquad game Wednesday and could lock up a bullpen spot with a few more strong showings in camp, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Impact Garcia struck out three batters across 2.1 scoreless innings. The 22-year-old righty "threw the living fire out of the ball," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "The ball was jumping." Garcia was selected by the Tigers in the Rule 5 draft back in December. He'll need to spend 50 days on the active roster this season, otherwise his Rule 5 status will carry over to 2021. If the youngster continues to impress, the Tigers will likely find a way to keep him around.
