Rehab outing set Stripling (hip) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Friday and is expected to throw about five innings, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact It was originally reported the veteran right-hander would make the rehab start Wednesday, but the outing was instead pushed back a couple days. If all goes well Friday with Buffalo, Stripling could return from the injured list for Toronto sometime next week.

Impact Stripling has been sidelined since Aug. 3 due to a right glute/hip strain, but he threw off a mound Monday and has been cleared to return to game action in the minors Friday. Since he hasn't missed much time, it's possible that the right-hander will be cleared to return from the injured list after just one rehab start.

Impact According to interim manager John Schneider, the Blue Jays view Stripling's injury as a short-term concern, so he could be ready to go by the time he's first eligible to come off the IL in mid-August.
