Picks up third win Pressly (3-2) pitched a scoreless ninth inning while allowing one hit and striking out one to earn the win Monday against the Rangers.

Impact Pressly entered the game in the ninth inning with the score tied at 9-9. He allowed a two-out single but otherwise stayed out of trouble to turn in his third consecutive scoreless outing. Pressly struggled immediately out of the All-Star break by allowing three earned runs across his first three frames, but he remains locked into the closer role and has been effective for the vast majority of the campaign.

Notches 23rd save Pressly walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-4 win over the Athletics.

Impact Pressly has put up a pair of scoreless outings to bounce back from giving up four runs (three earned) over his previous two innings. While he's been a little unsteady following the All-Star break, he's in little danger of losing his closer job. He's 23-for-27 in save chances with a 2.84 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 49:9 K:BB through 44.1 innings this season.

Bounces back to collect save Pressly earned a save against the Athletics on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

Impact Pressly had struggled in his previous two outings coming into Thursday, allowing four runs (three earned) and six hits over two frames. He got back on track against Oakland, needing just 11 pitches to retire the side in order and collect his 22nd save. Pressly isn't immune to an occasional rough appearance, but he's been steady overall this season, posting a 2.91ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 48:8 K:BB over 43.1 innings as the Astros' unquestioned closer.

Blows save Saturday Pressly allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and struck out one over one inning to take a blown save in Saturday's 13-12 extra-inning loss to the Angels.

Impact Pressly was tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning but failed to get the job done. Shohei Ohtani hit a solo home run, and further traffic on the bases yielded two more runs before the Angels completed their comeback against Phil Maton a frame later. Prior to Saturday, Pressly had given up just one unearned runs while allowing no hits and four walks over his previous 12 innings. Fantasy managers can deploy him in their lineups with confidence.

Impact Pressly was able to work around the free pass without trouble to log his sixth consecutive appearance with a save. Pressly has 19 saves on the campaign, three of which have come in July.

Impact Pressly has earned saves in back-to-back games while extending his scoreless streak to nine innings. The 34-year-old right-hander is now 18-for-21 in save chances with a 2.65 ERA, 0.86 ERA and 40:7 K:BB across 37.1 innings this season.

He looked iffy early in the month but he's given up just one run over his last eight innings, dropping his season ERA to 2.97. Pressly's converted 14 of his 17 save chances while going 2-2 with a 35:7 K:BB through 33.1 innings.

Notches 14th save Pressly struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 14th save of the season in a 10-8 win over the Mets.

Impact Both pitching staffs struggled in this one, combining for 16 walks, two hit by pitches and two wild pitches, but Pressly was unaffected by the general malaise. After a stretch in late May and June that saw the veteran reliever cough up runs in six of seven appearances, he's now kept the opposition off the board in three straight, leaving him with a 3.16 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 34:7 K:BB through 31.1 innings on the year.

Impact The 33-year-old hasn't been reliable of late as he came into Tuesday with eight runs allowed (four earned) and three blown saves in his past eight outings, but he worked through the heart of New York's lineup with no major issues. Impact Pressly entered the game in the ninth inning with a three-run lead and blew his third save of the season -- all three of which have come in his last six appearances. The leadoff hitter reached base on an error, but Pressly went on to surrender a double and triple to allow the tying run to score. There's no indication that he will be moved out of the closer role, but Pressly has allowed at least one run in five of his last six appearances.

Rebounds to notch save Pressly earned a save over the Guardians on Saturday, allowing an unearned run on one hit while striking out one batter over one inning.

Impact Pressly blew a save opportunity against Cleveland on Friday, but he got right back on his feet with a save one day later. The Astros gave him a three-run ninth-inning cushion to work with Saturday, but things got interesting when Steven Kwan opened with an infield single and the next batter reached base via an error. Pressly then got Jose Ramirez -- who homered four times over the previous two games -- to line out before retiring the final two batters to close out the contest. Pressly has struggled a bit of late with two blown saves and four runs (three earned) over his past five appearances, but he's 12-for-14 on save chances on the season and in no immediate danger of having his closer role challenged.

Blows save in Cleveland Pressly blew his second save of the season in Friday's 10-9 extra-innings loss to the Guardians, giving up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning. He struck out one.

Impact The Astros had already seen a 5-4 lead slip away, but after they re-took the lead in the top of the eighth inning, Pressly got the call to try and secure his 12th save. Instead, Cleveland tied it up again, something they would do twice more in extra innings before finally taking their first and only lead of the night in the 14th. Pressly has been tagged for a run in three of his last four appearances, but the stumble seems to be more a product of bad luck than bad performance -- over his last 12 games, the veteran closer has an 18:2 K:BB in 12 innings.

Impact Pressly got the ninth inning with Houston up 5-4 but couldn't protect the lead. He struck out two of the first three batters he faced but yielded a game-tying single to rookie Royce Lewis with two outs. The blown save was the first for Pressly in 11 chances this season, and Monday marked just the second time he's allowed the opponent to score over his past 17 outings.
