Start halted by rain Yarbrough pitched three scoreless innings against Toronto on Saturday, yielding four hits and striking out two. The game was suspended due to rain.
Impact Yarbrough wasn't spotless in the performance -- he left runners stranded in scoring position in two of his three frames -- but the southpaw managed to escape both jams and finish his three innings up 1-0. Unfortunately, he won't be able to earn a win for his effort as the game was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning and is slated to be made up Sunday morning. Yarbrough's next turn in the rotation will come Friday at home in a rematch against Toronto.

Shaky in no-decision Yarbrough didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 win over the Red Sox, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out one.
Impact The southpaw didn't have his best stuff, getting tagged for three runs in the first inning, but Yarbrough was able to settle down and limit the damage the rest of the way. He threw 49 of 77 pitches for strikes as he failed to complete at least five innings for the first time in four starts. Yarbrough will look to give the Rays a little more length in his next outing, currently scheduled for this weekend in Buffalo against the Blue Jays.

Impact Yarbrough had a scoreless outing through 3.2 innings, but surrendered a two-run home run to Alex Verdugo to open the scoring. He completely fell apart in the sixth inning, as he allowed all five batters he faced to reach base, with the big blow being a two-run home run off the bat of Michael Chavis. Despite the poor outing, Yarbrough has maintained a 3.78 ERA across 16.2 innings to begin the season. His next start is currently projected for Monday in a rematch against the Red Sox.

Impact Despite the loss, it was another solid outing for the 28-year-old. Yarbrough worked his way into a second inning jam after giving up a single to Marcell Ozuna, hitting Adam Duvall with a pitch, then allowing Dansby Swanson to score Ozuna on an RBI single. He soon surrendered Atlanta's final run of the night on a sacrifice fly to Austin Riley. It was an otherwise effective performance as the southpaw threw 56 of 87 pitches for strikes. Unfortunately, his teammates failed to provide enough run support to get him the win. The biggest surprise for Yarbrough was the three free passes he issued, which were his most walks given up since an August 5, 2018 contest against the White Sox. He'll look to bounce back on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Impact Yarbrough looked much like the effective pitcher he was from May to August of 2019, limiting Toronto to four harmless singles and issuing only one free pass. He registered just one strikeout, but that's par for the course for the soft-throwing southpaw. Yarbrough was pulled after 69 pitches, preventing him from earning a win or a quality start, so his performance could have been better from a fantasy perspective. Still, it was refreshing to see the 28-year-old thrive after struggling down the stretch last season, and he should work his way to higher pitcher counts as the season progresses. Yarbrough will get a chance to build on his promising start to the campaign when he faces Atlanta on the road Thursday.
