Seth Lugo - Shaky in start vs. Brewers Lugo did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk over 3.2 innings against the Brewers. He struck out five.

Impact Lugo gave up a pair of runs in the first inning, and after he plunked Jesse Winker in the fourth with the bases loaded the right-hander was exited in a disappointing start. It's particularly disappointing considering how well he had pitched in his first two starts as a member of the San Diego rotation as he had given up just one run in each of those first two efforts. He's scheduled to get a chance to rebound Friday in a battle against Arizona.

Luis Campusano - Slams first homer Campusano went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday in a loss to Milwaukee.

Impact The Padres fell behind early and never came close to catching up, but Campusano provided a small spark with his solo homer to left field in the fifth inning. The long ball was the first of the season for the 24-year-old, who is working in a backup role behind Austin Nola. Campusano is slashing .227/.429/.656 through 22 plate appearances.

Joe Musgrove - Another rehab start Sunday Musgrove (toe/shoulder) will make another rehab start Sunday with Single-A Lake Elsinore, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Impact As long as there are no setbacks during that outing, Musgrove should be cleared to join the Padres' rotation late next week. He threw 4.1 innings in his rehab debut last week with Triple-A El Paso but needed a cortisone shot in his right shoulder after falling hard on a fielding play. The 30-year-old right-hander tossed a full-intensity bullpen session Friday without issue and is now finally nearing the end of his recovery from a February toe fracture.

Impact Engel landed on the injured list March 30, just before the start of the 2023 regular season, after suffering a left hamstring strain toward end of spring training. He should be an option for the Padres' outfield by the end of the coming week.

Wacha saw his ERA jump to 6.06 alongside a 15:5 K:B through 16.1 frames. Aside from a strong start against Atlanta -- six shutout innings with 10 punchouts -- he's allowed 11 runs in two outings.
