Joe Musgrove - Set for Thursday rehab start Musgrove (toe) is scheduled to make a rehab start Thursday with Triple-A El Paso, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Musgrove has been building in simulated settings over the last couple of weeks as he completes his recovery from a February toe fracture, so it might just be a one-start rehab stint for the 30-year-old right-hander. There should be a better idea of the Padres' plan following Thursday's outing against the Triple-A affiliate of the Giants. Musgrove is eligible to be activated from the 15-day IL next Tuesday.

Manny Machado - Ejected for arguing auto strike Machado was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks for arguing an automatic third-strike call in the first inning.
Impact Machado tried to call time but the request was denied and then he quickly got the heave-ho after voicing his displeasure with home plate umpire Ron Kulpa. He was starting at DH for the Padres in their matinee tilt versus Arizona and finished 0-for-1 with a strikeout.

David Dahl - Gets start in right field Tuesday Dahl is starting in right field and batting eighth for the Padres on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Impact Kim failed to reach base his first three times to the plate, but he got another chance in the ninth inning after David Dahl tied the score with a pinch-hit homer. Weathers struggled mightily at Triple-A El Paso last year and made just one MLB start, but if he continues to pitch like this, he figures to remain in the Padres rotation until Joe Musgrove (toe) is cleared to return.

Impact Tatis is eligible to return from his PED suspension on April 20 and he's permitted to play in some minor-league games before then in order to get ready. The 24-year-old is also coming back from wrist and shoulder surgeries, but he's considered fully healthy at this point after playing in 16 spring training games. Padres manager Bob Melvin has indicated Tatis will likely bat leadoff once he rejoins the major-league roster.
