Mike Clevinger - Short start on tap Clevinger is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Giants, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Impact The 31-year-old seemingly made his final start of the regular season with a quality start Saturday against the White Sox, but he'll take the mound Wednesday on three days rest for a short tune-up ahead of the playoffs. Clevinger won't be included in the Padres' potential rotation plans until the NLDS, and it's unclear if he'll be included on the roster as a bullpen option for the wild-card round.

Wil Myers - Goes deep Monday Myers went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 7-4 win against San Francisco.

Impact Neither team was able to score until the Padres put up seven runs in the eighth inning. Myers' 423-foot shot to center field accounted for the final three runs of the offensive outburst. This was the veteran outfielder's first start since Sept. 28, as Jose Azocar and Jurickson Profar have been starting in the outfield alongside Juan Soto of late. Myers has been limited by injuries in 2022 and has only six homers and 39 RBI along with a .260/.313/.390 slash line over 278 plate appearances.

Josh Hader - Notches 36th save Hader registered a save against the Giants on Monday, striking out one batter over a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.

Impact The Padres entered the ninth inning up 7-0, so it looked like Hader would get the night off. However, Tim Hill was very wild and gave up four runs while retiring just one batter, creating a save situation for Hader. The veteran closer settled things down with a strikeout of Austin Slater before hitting Joey Bart with a pitch, and he finished off the save by inducing a flyout. Hader appeared to have lost his way throughout much of August, but since the final day of that month he's allowed just one earned run across 12 appearances while racking up seven saves in eight chances and posting a 14:2 K:BB.

Joe Musgrove - Outstanding in postseason tuneup Musgrove pitched six scoreless innings against San Francisco on Monday, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. He did not factor in the decision.

Impact Musgrove got no offensive support while he was in the contest -- all seven of San Diego's runs came in the eighth inning, after the starter departed -- but he was nonetheless in fine form in his final start of the regular season. The right-hander finished the campaign with a flourish, giving up just one earned run while posting a 27:8 K:BB across 22 innings over his final four starts. Musgrove's second campaign in San Diego was even better than his first, as he compiled a career-best 2.93 ERA and 1.08 WHIP along with 10 wins and a 184:42 K:BB over 181 frames. He'll likely get Game 3 (if necessary) in the Padres' upcoming wild-card series.
