Secures Opening Day spotCampusano will open the season on the big-league roster while Austin Nola (finger) heads to the injured list, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
ImpactNola's injury isn't expected to keep him out long, and Campusano will be stuck behind Victor Caratini during his time on the roster, so he might not get the chance to make more than two or three starts before being sent back to the minors. Campusano could surface from time to time this season whenever Nola or Caratini get hurt, but he's probably not yet ready to make a significant impact, as his one-game debut last season represents his only appearance to date above the High-A level.

Begins season on shelfPadres manager Jayce Tingler confirmed Monday that Guerra (elbow) would begin the season on the injured list, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactGuerra is one of seven relievers set to open the season on the shelf for a banged-up Padres pitching staff. The 25-year-old righty didn't pitch during the Cactus League slate while recovering from a Grade 1 UCL sprain, so he'll likely be in line to spend more than the minimum 10 days on the IL.

Headed to ILPadres manager Jayce Tingler confirmed Monday that Strahm (knee) would begin the season on the injured list, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactConsidering that Strahm hasn't pitched at any point during the Padres' Cactus League schedule, his move to the IL was fully expected. The 29-year-old is still ramping up from the patellar tendon surgery he required last October, at any this point, he remains without a clear timetable to make his 2021 debut.

Overcomes shoulder injuryWilliams (shoulder) is listed among the Padres' available relievers for Monday's Cactus League finale versus the Rockies, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactWilliams battled a left shoulder injury earlier this month, but he re-entered San Diego's pitching schedule over the weekend, tossing a scoreless inning in Friday's game against the Mariners. His inclusion on the pitching schedule three days later suggests he's feeling fine physically, leaving the door open for him to secure a spot on the Padres' 26-man Opening Day roster.
