Manny Machado - Launches 19th homerMachado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.
ImpactMachado went 5-for-13 with two extra-base hits during the three-game series at Colorado. The third baseman has 19 homers on the year, including six over his last 18 contests as he's found more consistent power in the second half. He's added a .271/.322/.449 slash line, 71 RBI, 60 runs scored, 23 doubles and six stolen bases over 116 games.

Joe Musgrove - Another short start SundayMusgrove allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Sunday.
ImpactMusgrove continues to be brought along slowly in his recovery from bone bruise and bone spur in his throwing elbow. He stretched out to 73 pitches (47 strikes) and limited the damage to an Aaron Schunk RBI double in the third inning. Musgrove has allowed one run on five hits and three walks over 8.2 innings since his return. The veteran right-hander has a 4.97 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB through 58 innings over 12 starts this year. Musgrove will likely still have a slight workload restriction for his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Mets.

Victor Vodnik - Converts ninth saveVodnik walked one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Padres.
ImpactVodnik put together two scoreless outings at home versus the Padres during this series after blowing a save Tuesday in Arizona. That blown save was Vodnik's first since he took over the primary closer role for the Rockies. He's allowed five runs over 8.1 innings in August, but they've been limited to two poor appearances out of nine. For the season, Vodnik has a 4.04 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 57:31 K:BB while converting nine saves, adding six holds and taking three blown saves through 64.2 innings.

Bradley Blalock - Limits Padres to one runBlalock allowed one run on six hits and three walks while striking out two over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Sunday.
ImpactBlalock came up an out short of a quality start for the second outing in a row, and he was also pulled before the Rockies gained the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. While he walked three, it was still another positive performance for the 23-year-old in his Coors Field debut. Blalock has a 2.92 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 6:4 K:BB over 12.1 innings across three appearances (two starts) between Colorado and Milwaukee this year. Despite his decent pitching, Blalock may be sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque if Ryan Feltner (shoulder) is able to return from the injured list this week without requiring a rehab assignment, though Tanner Gordon has been less inspiring as a fill-in starter for Colorado's injury-plagued rotation.
