Webster Rivas - Hits first major-league homerRivas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Houston.
ImpactThe 30-year-old catcher accounted for San Diego's only run off Zack Greinke on Sunday, a fifth-inning solo shot. That was Rivas' first major-league hit, and he added a two-out single in the ninth. Rivas figures to serve as the backup catcher to Victor Caratini while Austin Nola (knee) is out.

Ha-Seong Kim - Pops third homerKim went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Houston.
ImpactThe 25-year-old went deep off Houston reliever Andre Scrubb in the ninth inning. Kim is up to three homers, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored and four stolen bases through 145 plate appearances. With Manny Machado back from a shoulder injury, Kim is expected to mostly serve in a utility role in the infield once San Diego returns to National League play Monday.

Yordan Alvarez - Unlikely to play MondayAlvarez (wrist) is unlikely to play Monday against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
ImpactAlvarez has missed the last four games due to right wrist soreness, and manager Dusty Baker said Sunday that he'll try to avoid using the 23-year-old Monday. Alvarez is still considered day-to-day, but it's possible that he could land on the injured list if he isn't able to return early in the upcoming series against Boston.

Wil Myers - Goes yard SundayMyers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Houston.
ImpactThe 30-year-old continues to swing a hot bat -- he's gone 7-for-16 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored in the last four games. Myers has posted a .252/.338/.430 slash line with six homers, 22 RBI, 19 runs scored and four stolen bases in 154 plate appearances overall. He hit third in Sunday's contest, but the outfielder has regularly batted sixth since returning from the COVID-19 injured list on May 23.

Joe Musgrove - Excellent in relief outingMusgrove pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just a hit-by-pitch while striking out three in Sunday's loss to Houston. He did not factor in the decision.
ImpactBlake Snell was ineffective in Sunday's game and manager Jayce Tingler didn't want to overuse a bullpen that had logged 15 innings in the last two days. Musgrove's only mistake was plunking Aldemys Diaz in the sixth inning. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.08 with a 0.76 WHIP and 79:12 K:BB across 60.2 innings this season. This relief outing is likely to be a one-off for Musgrove -- he should be able to re-enter the rotation on standard rest next weekend versus the Mets.

Blake Snell - Hit hard againSnell (1-2) allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in three innings in a loss to Houston on Sunday.
ImpactThe southpaw's two worst starts of the season have been his two most recent outings. He got into trouble right away Sunday, allowing four runs in the first inning. Snell then struggled through the third before Joe Musgrove handled the rest of the pitching duties for the game. Snell has seen his ERA balloon from 3.79 to 5.55 during his poor run. He's added a 1.60 WHIP and 70:31 K:BB across 47 innings overall. The 28-year-old lines up for a home start versus the Mets next weekend.
