Cristian Pache - Secures roster spotPache has officially made the Athletics' Opening Day roster, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactPache's exact role hasn't been announced, but the door appears to be open for him to be the primary center fielder for the rebuilding squad. Pache struggled significantly at the plate in 22 games for Atlanta last season, hitting .111/.152/.206, and he was merely a league-average bat at the Triple-A level, hitting .265/.330/.414 with a 27.5 percent strikeout rate.

Dalton Kelly - Fails to earn roster spotKelly was reassigned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ImpactKelly was in camp as a non-roster invitee and was attempting to win a starting role at first base. His .179/.324/.179 spring slash line didn't help his case, so he'll return to the minors to wait for his next chance.

Drew Jackson - Headed to VegasThe Athletics reassigned Jackson to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
ImpactThough he's in the lineup Monday for the Athletics' penultimate Cactus League game, Jackson ultimately didn't distinguish himself enough as a non-roster invitee to join the big club for Opening Day. Jackson will open the upcoming season in Las Vegas, hoping to play well enough to push his way to the big leagues for the first time since 2019, when he received a cup of coffee with the Orioles.

Christian Bethancourt - Reassigned to Triple-ABethancourt was reassigned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
ImpactThe catcher signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics in November, playing in 13 games this spring and producing a .381 batting average along with two extra-base hits and five RBI. Bethancourt will begin the season with Las Vegas, but his spring performance could make it more likely he gets called up at some point in the coming months.

Vimael Machín - Expunged from 40-man rosterThe Athletics outrighted Machin to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
ImpactOakland initially optioned Machin to Las Vegas on March 23, only to remove him from the 40-man roster entirely just over a week later. With the 28-year-old going unclaimed off waivers, he'll remain in the organization at the Triple-A level as organizational infield depth. Machin struggled mightily in a limited sample of big-league action across the past two seasons, slashing .179/.264/.200 across 108 plate appearances.
