Mike Fiers - Throwing from 60 feetFiers (elbow) has thrown from 60 feet out on three occasions since receiving a platelet-rich injection in June, the Athletics' official site reports.

ImpactFiers was still experiencing problems throwing shortly after receiving the PRP injection, but he's bounced back over the last several weeks. However, the veteran right-hander remains without a timetable for return after last taking the mound May 7, and given the length of his absence, he would undoubtedly need a robust rehab assignment before being deemed ready for activation.

Daulton Jefferies - Could draw start SundayJefferies could make Sunday's start against the Rangers if James Kaprielian (shoulder) isn't able to return from the injured list in time, the Athletics' official site reports.

ImpactThe 26-year-old right-hander was solid in his 2021 big-league debut against the Angels on Sunday, allowing three earned runs on three hits and three walks over five innings while recording three strikeouts. Jefferies would theoretically be in a good spot if he did draw the start against Texas, considering the Rangers went into Wednesday averaging the second-fewest runs per road game (3.7).

James Kaprielian - Could return SundayKaprielian (shoulder) played catch before Wednesday's game and could make a start against the Rangers on Sunday, the Athletics' official site reports.

ImpactThe right-hander has been in the process of overcoming an impingement in his throwing shoulder, and the fact he was able to engage in a throwing session Wednesday is certainly encouraging. If Kaprielian isn't able to take the hill Sunday, however, Daulton Jeffries is slated to slot in for his second major-league start of 2021.

ImpactSan Diego was able to take a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th inning, but Hill gave it away on a walkoff two-run double by Matt Olson. The 31-year-old southpaw has taken a pair of losses and blown saves each in his last five outings. He's still been fairly reliable with a 2.85 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 47:16 K:BB across 41 innings this season while collecting 13 holds and one save in 53 appearances.
