Cranks out four hitsSolano went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 12-7 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
ImpactThree of Solano's four hits were doubles, including one of the run-scoring variety in the seventh inning. He added the game-tying run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Solano has hit safely in five straight games (10-for-19) with a homer, nine RBI, four doubles and three runs scored. The 32-year-old infielder is still expected to make most of his starts versus southpaws, but his recent success could earn him more general playing time over the likes of Mauricio Dubon and Wilmer Flores.

Adds RBI in returnLongoria (oblique) went 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly in Thursday's 12-7 loss to the Padres.
ImpactLongoria's sacrifice fly scored Mike Yastrzemski in the fifth inning to get the Giants on the board. Longoria also had a pair of strikeouts in his season debut. The 34-year-old third baseman figures to see the majority of the playing time at that position. He may also benefit from the universal designated hitter in 2020 to get the occasional day off from playing defense.

Unravels in extra-inning lossRogers (1-2) took the loss Thursday, allowing six runs (five earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out two in one inning versus the Padres.
ImpactRogers did just fine in the ninth inning, retiring the side cleanly, but it all fell apart when he retook the mound in the 10th. Rogers failed to record an out in the extra inning, and the damage was far too much for the Giants to overcome. The 29-year-old had produced three straight scoreless appearances after a similar blow-up on Opening Day against the Dodgers. Rogers' inconsistent pitching in non-save situations will likely keep him behind Trevor Gott and Tony Watson for closer duties in 2020.

Three-hit effort versus GiantsPham went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI singles and two runs scored in Thursday's 12-7 extra-inning win over the Giants.
ImpactPham did well from the cleanup spot, including the go-ahead hit in the 10th inning when he knocked in Trent Grisham. Pham is up to five runs scored, three RBI and four stolen bases through seven games, but the outfielder is still in search of his first homer in a Padres uniform.

Notches first stealGrisham went 2-for-6 with an RBI double, a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 12-7 extra-inning win over the Giants.
ImpactGrisham doubled home Fernando Tatis in the seventh inning to stretch the Padres' lead to 6-1, and stole third base later in the frame. When the Padres' lead didn't hold, he scored the first of six runs in the 10th as the initial runner in the extra inning. Grisham has racked up two homers, seven runs scored and five RBI in seven games to start the year.
