Fernando Tatis Jr. - Closes campaign with two K'sTatis went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Giants.
ImpactThere was little to play for in the season finale for an underachieving Padres club, but Tatis at least had a chance to prop up his bid for the NL MVP award. Instead, the electrifying youngster continued an end-of-season slide that saw him strike out 15 times over his final 26 at-bats. Tatis' huge numbers -- a .282/.364/.611 slash line, 42 home runs, 97 RBI, 99 runs and 25 stolen bases -- should still earn him plenty of consideration for MVP, but San Diego's second-half freefall and Tatis' underwhelming finish could dampen his credentials in the minds of voters.

Nabil Crismatt - Struggles in final outingCrismatt allowed four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two over three innings against San Francisco on Sunday.
ImpactCrismatt came on in the fifth inning with the Giants already up by six runs. He served up a two-run homer to pitcher Logan Webb in his first frame and a two-run double to Mike Yastrzemski in his final inning of work. The right-hander threw 44 pitches in total, his most since tossing 62 pitches against San Francisco in mid-September. Crismatt finished his first campaign in San Diego with a 3.76 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 71:24 K:BB across 81.1 innings. He posted a 3-1 record and one hold and should be in the mix for a low-leverage role again next season.
