Reiss Knehr - Could start TuesdayThe Padres may promote Knehr from Triple-A El Paso to start Tuesday against Atlanta, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactKnehr is with the team as part of the taxi squad and could be called upon for at least one spot start. Monday's game is threatened by rain, however, so the Padres won't finalize their plans until they know when they'll wind up playing. Knehr made his big-league debut earlier this season but appeared just once, giving up two earned runs in 3.2 innings.

Jordan Humphreys - Clears waiversHumphreys cleared waivers and was outrighted to Double-A San Antonio on Monday.
ImpactHumphreys was waived three times over the offseason before eventually landing with the Padres. He never cracked the team's active roster, however, and he'll now be removed from the 40-man after allowing 13 runs (11 earned) in 10.2 innings for San Antonio.

Miguel Diaz - Sent to Triple-ADiaz was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.
ImpactThe right-hander was recalled by the Padres just before the All-Star break and made three appearances during his stint in the majors. Diaz covered 3.2 scoreless frames in two outings, but he surrendered four runs in one inning during his other appearance. Overall he's been a solid bullpen piece for the Friars this year with a 3.38 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 32:16 K:BB across 29.1 innings, so he should be back in the majors before too long.
