Austin Slater - Big game off bench Slater went 3-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Dodgers.
Impact Slater didn't start Friday, but he entered as a pinch hitter for LaMonte Wade in the eighth inning. Slater then racked up three singles, including one to plate an insurance run in the 11th. The 30-year-old outfielder continues to be a force against left-handed pitchers -- two of his three hits Friday came against southpaws. Slater owns a .431/.463/.529 slash line with a home run, 10 RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases through 54 plate appearances this season, mainly in a short-side platoon role.

Impact Flores sparked the Giants' comeback with his seventh-inning blast. The 31-year-old infielder has hit safely in five straight games, going 6-for-16 (.375) over that span. The success of LaMonte Wade at first base and a combination of Casey Schmitt and J.D. Davis (ankle) at third has left Flores in a short-side platoon role at best, though Davis' current injury has opened up some playing time for Flores. Jakob Junis - Nabs save Friday Junis recorded one strikeout in a perfect 11th inning to earn the save in Friday's 7-5 win over the Dodgers.
Impact The Giants currently have a routine bullpen day in their rotation, and this was it, leaving few arms available by the 11th inning. Junis was able to protect a two-run lead with ease, earning the first save of his major-league career in the process. He was effective in late May, but he's given up five runs over 9.2 innings across four appearances in June while typically working in lower-leverage spots. For the season, Junis owns a 4.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 48:16 K:BB over 39.1 innings as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. He also has one hold and a 3-3 record.

Camilo Doval - Takes blown save Doval allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out one over one inning, taking a blown save in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Dodgers.
Impact Doval allowed four straight batters to reach base, but he was able to limit the damage to one run. The slip-up ended his run of 15 straight save conversions, but he's still 18-for-20 in save chances this season as one of the most effective closers in baseball. Doval has a 2.03 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB through 31 innings this season, and it would likely take an extended run of poor pitching for his ninth-inning role to be challenged.

Sean Manaea - Struggles in bulk role Friday Manaea allowed four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over 3.2 innings in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Dodgers. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact Manaea has had a couple of good long-relief outings and a couple of shaky ones over his last four appearances, with Friday's being in the latter category. The Dodgers did all their damage against Manaea in the fifth inning. The southpaw is now at a 5.84 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 63:21 K:BB over 49.1 innings through 15 appearances (six starts) this season. With Alex Wood (back) likely to return Saturday, the Giants will have only one opening in their rotation, which Manaea has been filling with his long-relief assignments lately. He's tentatively projected to face the Padres at home in his next outing.
