Impact Johnson suffered a concussion Wednesday when he crashed hard into the outfield wall while making a fantastic catch. It's another blow to a Giants outfield that has been hit hard by injuries in the early going. There is no timetable for his return.

Logan Webb - Signs massive extension Webb and the Giants agreed on a five-year, $90 million contract extension Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact After operating as one of the best pitchers in the National League for the last few seasons, Webb got his big paycheck. The right-hander produced a 2.90 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 163 strikeouts over 192.1 innings in 32 starts last season. With Carlos Rodon leaving San Francisco following the 2022 campaign, Webb became the unquestioned ace of the Giants' staff in 2023. With him locked up for the long haul now, the 26-year-old can focus on his craft on the mound and no longer worry about contract negotiations moving forward.

Impact Flores has started three of the last four games at first base, and he's gone 5-for-13 with four RBI in that span. All of those starts came against southpaws, so it's still too soon to see if he'll break out of a short-side platoon role. He's done well this season with a .346/.414/.654 slash line, two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored over 29 plate appearances.

Taylor Rogers - Disaster outing Wednesday Rogers (0-1) took the loss Wednesday versus the Dodgers, allowing four runs on four walks while failing to record an out.
Impact Rogers was called upon in the sixth inning, but he threw just 15 of 30 pitches for strikes. One of his walks came on a clock violation. John Brebbia proceeded to allow three inherited runners to score, leaving Rogers with the loss. Rogers has kept runs off the board just once in five appearances, pitching to an awful 18.90 ERA and 3.00 WHIP across his first 3.1 innings with the Giants. With numbers like that, he could be working his way out of the high-leverage mix.

Ross Stripling - Makes second straight relief cameo Stripling covered 3.1 innings of long relief in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Dodgers, striking out six while giving up two earned runs on two hits and two walks.
Impact Given that he started Giants' third game of the season, Stripling appeared to be locked in as a full-time member of the rotation, but manager Gabe Kapler has surprising deployed the right-hander in relief his last two times out. Kapler hasn't clarified his plans for the rotation moving forward, and it's possible the fact that the Giants had one day off this week (Thursday) and last week (April 4) prompted the team to get by with five starters. Beginning Friday, the Giants will head into a stretch of 14 games in 14 days, so Kapler could look to reintegrate Stripling back into the rotation to afford the other five starters an additional day of rest. Stripling covered 65 pitches in Wednesday's relief appearance, so he should be able to give the Giants a decent amount of length if he's called upon to start again.

Impact Estrada's ninth-inning homer had little impact on the game since the Dodgers were up 10-4 at the time, but they count all the same in fantasy. It was the infielder's second long ball of the campaign and marked the third time this year he's reached base three times in a contest. Estrada has been pretty productive so far this season, complementing the pair of long balls with seven runs, five RBI, two thefts and a .341/.386/.537 slash line through 44 plate appearances.

Impact The Giants gave Cobb an early three-run lead, but the veteran hurler couldn't take advantage. He gave up a hit in each of his first three frames but escaped without Los Angeles scoring before being chased with two outs in the fourth.
