Hayden Birdsong - Punches out 12 Birdsong (2-0) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks over six innings Sunday, striking out 12 and earning a win over the Rockies.

Impact Birdsong carved through Colorado's lineup and turned in the best start of his young MLB career. Prior to Sunday's performance, he hadn't struck out more than five batters in an outing. The only damage against him was a two-run shot by Brendan Rodgers in the fourth inning. Birdsong forced a whopping 27 swinging strikes, including 12 with the curveball and 10 with the slider. He's sporting a 3.55 ERA with a 30:12 K:BB through 25.1 innings. Birdsong's next outing is expected to be a rematch at home against the Rockies.

Mike Baumann - Traded to San Francisco Baumann was traded to the Giants in exchange for cash considerations Sunday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Impact Baumann was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Friday and he will now head to San Francisco. The right-handed reliever has appeared in 35 games with the Orioles and Mariners this season, producing a 4.41 ERA and 1.38 WHIp with 32 strikeouts over 34.2 innings.

Impact Webb got off to a rough start, allowing four of the first five batters to reach, leading to two runs coming home for Colorado. He then held the Rockies scoreless over the next three frames before surrendering a two-run shot to Ezequiel Tovar in the fifth, marking the third straight outing in which the right-hander has given up at least seven hits.
