Brandon Crawford - Leaves Tuesday's gameCrawford was removed from Tuesday's game against Atlanta with an apparent leg injury, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
ImpactThe 35-year-old suffered the injury on a play at the plate during the top of the fourth inning, as he appeared to jam his leg into catcher Travis d'Arnaud. Crawford reached base via an RBI single and was originally called out at the plate, but he was ruled safe after a review. The Giants should provide an update on his status in the near future.

Wilmer Flores - Takes seat against rightyFlores is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
ImpactIn the wake of Brandon Belt's recent return from the injured list, the Giants are back to full strength in the infield for one of the few times this season. As a result, Flores could find himself out of the lineup against right-handed pitchers like Atlanta's Spencer Strider more frequently, though manager Gabe Kapler's willingness to liberally dole out rest days to his veterans shouldn't make Flores a complete afterthought. At the very least, Flores should have a secure lineup spot versus lefties; he's produced a 117 wRC+ and .342 wOBA in those matchups for his career.

Sam Delaplane - Shut down again with forearm strainThe Giants recalled Delaplane from Single-A Jose and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right forearm strain, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
ImpactDelaplane underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2021 and was non-tendered by the Giants in the offseason and later re-signed on a minor-league deal before he was added to the 40-man roster earlier this month. The 27-year-old began his rehab assignment at San Jose on May 28 and was expected to eventually settle at Double-A Richmond or Triple-A Sacramento, but that didn't come to fruition after he suffered an apparent setback with his surgically repaired elbow following his fourth rehab outing with the Single-A affiliate. He'll now be on the shelf for at least the next two months, and it's possible the Giants choose to shut him down for the season.

José Álvarez - Shut down with back tightnessThe Giants placed Alvarez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with back tightness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ImpactAlvarez hadn't made any appearances since notching his first save of the season June 11, and the back injury likely explains why. His placement on the IL is retroactive to June 18, so Alvarez could be activated as soon as July 3 if he's fully moved past the back issue by then. Alvarez's move to the IL created an opening on the 26-man active roster for Anthony DeSclafani (ankle), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL in advance of his scheduled start Tuesday in Atlanta.

Anthony DeSclafani - Activated for Tuesday's startDeSclafani (ankle) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and is starting Tuesday's game against Atlanta.
ImpactThe 32-year-old was previously confirmed as Tuesday's starting pitcher, and he's now officially back on San Francisco's active roster. DeSclafani has been sidelined by ankle inflammation for the past two months, and he figures to face some workload limitations in his first couple outings back from the injury since he covered only 2.2 innings during his final rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento.

Curt Casali - Not in Tuesday's lineupCasali will sit Tuesday against Atlanta, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
ImpactCasali hasn't started back-to-back games since June 10 and 11 as he deals with a nagging hamstring issue. He started Monday's series opener but will sit in favor of Austin Wynns on Tuesday.
