Tommy La Stella - Status uncertainLa Stella (Achilles) will receive treatment Tuesday after being scratched from a scheduled Cactus League start, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

ImpactLa Stella underwent surgery on his Achilles in October and has been brought along slowly this spring. Previous reports indicated he'd be ready for Opening Day, but that's in some doubt after he wasn't ready to play Tuesday. He's still considered day-to-day for now, so his status for the start of the season will depend on how his Achilles responds to treatment.

ImpactLong made a solid impression Monday versus the Athletics with a perfect inning. He's been hit by the long ball, allowing two home runs in his three appearances. The southpaw is still viewed as a starter by the Giants, but it's possible he could serve as a multi-inning reliever early in the season -- the five-man rotation is locked in but will still need to stretch out in the first few weeks.
