Starling Marte - Enjoying first Bay Bridge seriesMarte went 3-for-9 with two RBI doubles, another two-bagger, two stolen bases and two runs in Friday's and Saturday's games against the Giants.
ImpactThe trade-deadline acquisition has been on a tear since arriving in Oakland, with his production over the first two games of the current installment of the Bay Bridge series serving as the latest example. Marte's seventh-inning double Friday extended Oakland's lead to 3-1, while his two-bagger in the first inning Saturday plated Mark Canha for the first run of the game. Marte also encouragingly continues to receive the green light frequently on the basepaths, and his 37 steals are his best figure in that category since he swiped a career-high 47 with the Pirates in 2016.

Stephen Piscotty - May require surgeryManager Bob Melvin said Saturday that it's "very possible" that Piscotty (wrist) could require surgery, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactPiscotty was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist sprain Saturday, and Melvin revealed that the issue is something the outfielder has dealt with throughout the season. Seth Brown should see the majority of playing time in right field while Piscotty is sidelined, and the 30-year-old will likely miss extended time if he ultimately undergoes surgery.
