Victor Robles - Reports improvementRobles (back) was spotted in the Nationals clubhouse Monday and said he feels "much better," Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
ImpactRobles still hadn't resumed baseball activities at last check, but he appears to have made some progress. The center fielder has barely played since early May, having made two trips to the injured list with nagging back issues. Washington hasn't provided an updated timeline for his return.

Scott Alexander - Takes loss as opener SundayAlexander (6-1) allowed two runs on two hits over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Sunday. He did not walk or strike out a batter.
ImpactAlexander was the opener for the second time this season, but it ended up being a poor outing for the southpaw, as he gave up multiple runs for the first time since April 29. He's emerged as a somewhat high-leverage option for the Giants this season, logging seven holds and one save over 32 appearances, though he's far from challenging Camilo Doval for the closer role. Alexander now has a 3.62 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 27.1 innings and should return to his usual role going forward.

Blake Sabol - Sitting in second straightSabol is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ImpactThe Giants have now faced left-handed starters on consecutive days, so it comes as little surprise that the lefty-hitting Sabol hasn't been included in the lineup for either of those contests. The rookie Rule 5 selection doesn't have a clear path to a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching either, but the Giants have often made an effort to find room for Sabol at either catcher, designated hitter or left field by resting one of their everyday players. Sabol has held his own when the platoon advantage is in his favor, as he owns a .280/.332/.492 slash line (123 wRC+) with 19 extra-base hits in 211 plate appearances versus righties.
